What happened was that I met some great people who were proud of their town and it's heritage and were only too willing to help me in any way they could. Here are a few more pics from the visit...
These are the people from the town's tourist information centre. The lady sitting is called Magda, we met on my first day in the town on what was Magda's first day. She was a great help in translating for me and introducing me to people throughout the town.
This is Pavel, who I met at the only hotel in the town. He's a commercial pilot but was intown to check on renovations at a mill he'd bought. We drove out to the mill for an afternoon.
Gabriel was a guy that I met through Pavel. He was the previous own of the mill that Pavel was renovating. An interesting guy with a huge appetite for life.
Also working at the mill was Krysztof and one of his sons. We went out to their house one night. A beautiful family who were warm and welcoming...
I went to mass in the town's impressive basilica one evening. It was an experience...
Mati is a guitarist in a local rock band, called Elephantes - I photographed them one my first night in Miechow. He is also a keen member of the local Polish Military Renenactment Society. he came along one day in his full garb...
